The Grand Prix de Monaco 2008 was the fifth race of the 2008 Formula One World Championship. It took place on the weekend of May 22nd–25th 2008 at the Monaco Circuit.
Lewis Hamilton won the Monaco Grand Prix
Sunday, Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) won the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco. At the same time, the British pilot took the overall lead of the world championship thanks to his prowess on the urban circuit of the Principality. Hamilton ranked second three seconds ahead of the BMW Sauber of Robert Kubica after a disputed race in difficult conditions on a wet runway. Felipe Massa (Ferrari) was ranked third, followed by Mark Webber (Red Bull). Note also the world champion Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) finished ninth.
